I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's friended me did this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal [only if you feel inclined]. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer*.

Hi, umm I'm terrible at these kinds of questions. I've spent my childhood in the US and UK. Consequently, my spelling (which is bad anyway) periodically switches if I'm not careful.

... also I like bunnies.

Where in the World, if you had no limitations financially or otherwise, would you most like to travel to? (can be a place you've been to, or a place you want to go)

Every time somebody tells me they like bunnies, I think of Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her terror of them.

There will be no spelling shame here. I can't spell worth a damn, and I have only recently improved to the point where spellcheck knows what I'm trying to say.

This is actually a difficult question, because my first consideration is always my poor health, but I would like to travel to Russia, and also to the Middle East, especially Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. I speak Russian, Hebrew and Arabic, and it breaks my heart that I can't travel to where those languages are spoken in every day conversation. Maybe Israel someday. They have good anti smoking laws.

I guess that's why Anya and I will never be compatible. Which is a shame, because she is amazing.

Wow. My language skills are pretty poor, but if I could speak multiple languages, I'd want to be able to use them in their native countries too. Here's hoping you get the chance. Health really does put a damper on things. I have several friends who need to really plan before travelling because their illnesses mean that insurance costs a huge amount.

For me, I have two real challenges to travel. First, I'm really allergic to smoke and petrochemicals, so wherever I go has to have good air quality and good anti smoking laws and a low proportion of the population that smokes. In both the Middle East and Russia, they smoke like chimneys. Second, I can only go places where I can next day ship frozen medications from the US. *sigh*

Next day shipments of medications? So, does that mean you'd be in favour of a global medical program?

Being serious, I'm sorry if the question was insensitive or if it bothered you. I can't imagine staying in one place more than a few years, so for me travel is a big part of my life (and was part of the reason I was so late in replying).

It wouldn't really work for me. I have an orphan illness, which means both insurance companies think they can get away with not paying for my care, and I have to fight with them on a regular basis. and also there's no monetary incentive for pharmaceutical companies to make the medication I need. It's made at great expense for my doctor by a small lab, and then she does the compounding herself. Most of all, unpredictability is extremely dangerous for me, and travel is inherently unpredictable. Possibly because of this, or possibly because of my natural inclinations, I pup down roots and put them down hard. I'm not all that fond of travel.
