I wanted to play around a bit with Eileen and Harry, and also contrast Eileen and Harry with Eileen and Harry later in the story, but yes, the real point of the story is the consequences of this whole mess.

I also find that because of exactly when I set the modern period (right after the battle of Hogwarts)I have to deal with the restructuring of the wizarding world after Voldemort. As the really visible hero of the war, Harry is swept up in the middle of the whole thing. Also, Snape survives his ordeal with the snake, and the story is partly about how he deals with the end of the war, and the sudden knowledge that he is Harry's son (and probably more horrifying to him,that he is James' grandson)
