I am bad, bad, bad at romance. So this is a Bring Your Own Subtext drabble. Sorry about that. Takes place during 2.09, Point Blank, after everything goes down with Fowler, but before Mozzie.
He stood slumped against the glass wall when Peter came in. “Why didn’t you report me?”
Peter glanced at him. “I still might.”
Neal snorted.
Putting his hands in his pockets, to keep from reaching out to him and stroking his hair. “You would have been sent down for the rest of your life.”
“Don’t I deserve it?” Neal chuckled, the sound weak and thin. He never expected to be free again after. “You’re usually all about putting people who deserve it away.”
“Yeah,” Peter agreed, and he put his hand on Neal’s arm to lead him to a chair.
