To steal the phrase from floranna's post... Sokka's morally grey side. You know he has it. Lots of cannon evidence. In The Painted Lady, he speaks up pretty loudly about not helping the village. He blows up/knocks out of the sky several airships, each of which contain a huge crew, in the finale. When the Gaang is trying to practice and convince Aang that he has to kill the Firelord, it's Sokka who steps up and effortlessly beheads the dummy when Aang can't. Sokka never trusted Jet because Jet's darkness is just more obvious. Sokka and Zuko bringing out the darkness in each other would be EXTRA awesome.

Instead of forgiving him, Yue's spirit haunts Sokka, subtly ruining his relationship with Suki and generally screwing him over.
Yue gifts Sokka with waterbending when she becomes the moon spirit. Sokka's angry and scared of himself because he doesn't trust bending and can't control it very well.
Suki's just as calmly insane as Azula is. She just hides it better.
...I could go on. And on. And on. Gen darkfic is SO under appreciated. And Criminal Minds is the best. Right after Avatar. XD
