Korra Book 3 Premier

So after Book One, and it's frustrating habit of almost going to cool places, and Book Two, and the way it seriously angered me, and went nowere near any of the interesting stuff from the first book, and was fuzzy on villain motive, and had unacknowledged abuse and assault issues, and yeah, Book Three, if the premier is anything to go by is shaping up to be awesome.  I mean really!  It's going good places so far!  Who knew?  And it's a good thing, because I still really care about these characters.  My emotions, people!

But it serves me right  for watching it on livestream.  Some creepy 4chan types put homemade Korra/Amon rape porn over the commercials, and I had to find a new stream right in the middle, because fuck no.

I loved Avatar:tLA and I was somewhat disappointed by the first two season of Korra, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much with season 3. That said, I really liked what I saw so far. We'll se how this goes, but at this point I'm cautiously optimistic.

Yeah, I'm sitting here going, "that was amazing, yes yes yes, I love this... Oh god, THEY'RE GOING TO RUIN IT, I JUST KNOW IT!"

On the optimistic front, there were some writing staff changes between books 2 and 3, so, I have little faith, but maybe a little hope.

I never got around to watching the second half of S2 because I was so disappointed -- and I'm one of those people who goes into certain things DETERMINED to love them, so I was even more annoyed at Korra for letting me down. But I really liked the S3 trailer, and so I just sat down to watch the first three episodes of the new season. And... my show looks like it might be back! Like, it had Korra and Asami bonding, and people actually making smart decisions, and a storyline for Mako and Bolin which I am actually enjoying! Also Zuko is still a MASSIVE DORK. (Sweetheart.)

I'm hopeful!

The only thing from Book Two I really actually liked was Korra's journey through the Spirit World (Iroh!) and Wan. It was very much wa disappointment, and I was sincerely wondering if I had it in me to watch Book 3.

And look what they gave me! a look at what makes a people and a culture, the Dai Li, Kai, killing the love triangle once and for all, Asami and Korra's beautiful friendship, ZUKO! (and Eska might be an abusive one note character, but "It happens" just killed me.) Yay! the good times are here again! For how long, through, I have to wonder.
