"It's usually not Gen" fanfiction challenge

There is a new multi-fandom community created by lothy called  unusuallygen  for the "It's usually not Gen" fanfiction challenge.  The purpose is to take all of those scenarios contrived to facilitate romance in fanfics and use them for gen fics.  For example: Draco is a veela, or Snape and Harry are accidentally bonded.  Please join in, and submit prompts here.

Now that's a great idea. So many of the fun ideas end up being stories I can't read. I'm really careful about reading things that are just an excuse for writing smut. ;-) But if they took the great idea and left it gen--my problem would be solved. That's one reason I love Snape mentors Harry type stories so much. Lot's of love but no sex.

When I first read this title, I thought it was about my new obsession---Eugenides, King of Attolia. ;-)

*snickers* the start of a set of unusually bad puns. *grin*. There's a pleasure in reading fic for fic's sake, and the smuttier the fic, the worse the plot, usually, so I'm a big fan of this challenge.
