Birthday AU Commentfic Meme!

It’s my birth month, and to celebrate, I’m hosting a commentfic meme! I’m in the mood to write some AU fics, so that’s the theme of the meme. I’m open to both Avatar: the Last Airbender and Harry Potter requests, and I’m also taking requests in any of my existing AUs (Except Children of Mars), including the ones I established im my last commentfic meme, as well as new ones. Comment with up to five requests, and I’ll guarantee you at least one commentfic. I’ll probably answer with more, knowing me.

1) blind-zuko: Zuko to help him navigate has a begun to use steal a marsh grown oak cane or quarterstaff, it also is rather handy in a fight.

2) fail!Incubus Zuko: Zuko meeting and/or courting Mai

3) Zuko is dying after the assassination attempt by Zhao and the Pirates [that sounds like a good name for a band] and makes a pact with Davy Jones (here an aspect of Tui) for life and revenge.

4) The GAang as mysterymen (like the Shadow, Lobster Johnson, Green Hornet, etc.) in the 20’s, 30’s.
Suggested plot is that the Blue Spirits secret identity, Zuko Fajro the son the cities Godfather, has just been found out by the rest of the GAang.

Can I change number 4 to - "Ice Flows Through" Zuko and crew meeting the GAang

No you can't, because I'm in the process of continuing Ice Flows Through into a three part novel, and said meeting with the gaang is going to be part of that, and I'm no where near there yet. But since I have no reference point for Mystery Men, and like a dolt I didn't tell you that Zuko's cane is much to light weight to be a suitable weapon (as the uses his kind of cane is put to requires light weight) you get a free request.

No reference point?! What you need to do now is to go to nearest well sorted library (or if you have the money your nearest comicbook shop) and get 'Lobster Johnson: the Iron Prometheus'.

Thanks for the free request (I did not know the cane needed to be light weight) - Culture bending Classical antiquity style - The Water tribes are now the Water Kingdoms and resemble the antique Mediterranean city states and island kingdoms (Athens, Knossos, etc.) except for the southern Water Barbarians who resemble Vikings with elements of other cost living “barbarian” people.
Fire Nation is still Fire Nation and is inspired by ancient Persia and Babylonia.
The Earth Kingdoms are the shattered Earth Tribes and are inspired by the pre-roman Celtic and Germanic tribes.
The Air nomads are Jewish or maybe Egyptian or something else if you have a better idea

Not filling this (I've picked out two from your original to fill out, as soon as I've filled out the huge list of ones I've decided to fill... Why do I run memes?) because this would take a novel to fill, but of course the Air Nomads are Jews. Everybody's always trying to kill us. :D.

That's true, but what period/kind of jews? and what would there riding animal be?

No idea about the riding animal, but part of me wants to say to hell with consostancy and make the Airbenders be Medieval Jews or even 1930's and 40's Jews because of the whole genocide thing. I could make them Jews under Roman occupation, or in Babylonian exile, or... No, I'm not gonna write it!

how about Khazars from near the (black or caspian)sea. around 400 - 800 very progressive society and welcoming to different religions but mainly Jewish. IM a medieval reinactor and considering basing my persona in that area and time period. Lots to work with there but different universe huh. H

Mostly I just keep thinking because the Air Nomads were all killed that I go with the slightly more killed off Jewish groups.

If you would go anachronistic I think that the rome would be better Air nomads than the jews because of the whole traveling thing (and yes I know that the jews also traveled a lot but it is not a part of the jewish image).

Do you mean the Roma? Or the Romani more generally? Mostly, I was thinking of 1930s/40s because of the red Fire Nation flags with the spiky black thing in the middle, not that the Romani wouldn't fit that analogy too, but I think Jewish Air Nomads in exile in Fire Nation Babylon? AWESOME BEYOND REASON.

But instead she declared the war over. Both villages helped her build a new city where they would live together in peace.” As Katara finished, she rolled her eyes and glanced back at Aang. “It says ‘Love is brightest in the dark.’”

Aang leaned against the tomb wall and and huffed. Stupid story. Just when he had thought it was going to get good, the woman wimped out, and just-

“I don’t get it,” Katara muttered, glancing back at the mural resentfully. “I mean, they killed him. She should have made them pay.”

Aang smiled warmly, but when Katara looked his way, he hid it hastily. “So how are we going to find our way out of here?”

Katara shrugged helplessly, but her eyes landed on the mural again, and then on the relief of the two lovers kissing. “I have a crazy idea.”

“What?”

Katara shook her head. “Never mind, it’s too crazy.”

“We’re stuck down here. It’s not like idea you have is going to make it worse.”

“I was thinking… the curse says we’ll be trapped in here forever unless we trust in love.”

“Right…” It didn’t really sound like what Avatars were supposed to trust in.

“And here it says ‘love is brightest in the dark’ and…” Katara looked down. “Has a picture of them kissing.”

“Um...”

Katara still couldn’t meet his eyes. “Maybe we should kiss?”

Aang smiled with pure, soppy joy. “Us… kissing…”

I love it, especially that it is Katara’s bloodthirstiness that Aang finds attractive and the 'Aang smiled with pure, soppy joy. “Us… kissing…”' part med me think of the tongue movement in the 'Scott Pilgrim: The Last Airbender' trailer

Together, they will be the strongest couple in the entire world. They will dominate the Earth!

Zuko had two faces, one of which was always grinning.

When Mai gave it to him, she said it he needed to smile more, or smile at all, but that wasn’t a smile on the other face. It was a fearsome, toothy lear.

Zuko didn’t want to smile anyway.

The only thing he wanted to do was get back to his mountain, spew lava and ash, and chase all the humans off the slopes, no matter how nice the gifts they left at his alter were.

First Zhao, then Jet, who hated fire so much he hated volcano spirits who had nothing to do with the war, then Azula, who... Who was Azula.

Mai was Azula’s friend, but she gave him the wooden face anyway. Mai didn’t smile, but she thought he should.
