This. All of this. I totally agree. I know I've mentioned this to you before, but I have to use a mobility scooter or a wheelchair about half to time I leave the house. (The longer the distance from the parking spot to the actual destination, the more likely I am to use one or the other. After a certain distance is reached, I have to use one of them.) Even when I don't use one or the other, I still absolutely require oxygen while I'm walking.
Besides gaining weight simply from decreased mobility and exercise capacity, people who have some sort of chronic illness can also gain weight as a side effect of the medications used to treat their illness. I gained thirty pounds in three months when I started taking prednisone and I haven't been able to lose that weight in the eight years since.
