I've just read about half of this story in one block (I do that sometimes with WIPs) and truly enjoyed it. I love the way you're portraying the relationship between Snape & Happy, pretty realistic - still antagonistic, but also a certain feeling (at least on Harry's part) that their relationship should be acknowledged - I liked the Christmas/birthday presents. You've done well at following my original prompt!
I appreciate how you've tried to portray Ginny realistically, with both good characteristics and flaws. As someone who likes Ginny, but doesn't idolise her, I'm constantly frustrated with her portrayal in fanfics - some people Mary Sue-ise her, others completely bash her, and it gets to the point where I don't like seeing her in fanfics even though I like her. My only real complaint about your portrayal is that I've never seen her as a big prankster; not one like the (just fun-loving) twins, and certainly not like the (thoughtless, self-obsessed but essentially good-hearted) Marauders. Still, as as I said, thanks for trying, and I *really* appreciate you not breaking up the H/G.

I'll be looking forward to the next chapter :)
