I agree that Ginny as a prankster was hinted at in canon. Harry and Severus not getting along right away is expected...in a situation like this, unlike severitus fics which have Snape's love for Lily as not completely unrequited(tho' I hope it was in your story..eewww!)So in those it would make sense for Snape to treat his OWN child better and maybe for Harry to seize upon yet another father figure so it makes sense for a quick reconciliation in those fics..but in yours, Harry effectively abandoned the mother of his child to live out decades in poverty and harsh treatment which would shame Harry into avoiding facing that fact, i.e. a Severus Snape whose stepfather had altogether too much influence on his character. Severus himself would suddenly find himself with abandonment issues in addition to the fact that he probably realizes (and dislikes the fact) that his childhood would have been much happier if Harry had done his duty like he wanted to. P.S. "prolix" is a word for a running gag in the story "A Year Like None Other" by Aspen in the Sunlight I've been wondering if you've read it and its sequel.
