Yay! I'm glad someone agrees. And of course Snape and Harry wouldn't get along, there is way too much history there, and now Snape gets to deal with the things Harry did to his mother.
Snape doesn't want to touch the idea that his childhood would have likely been much happier if Harry had stayed or if Harry and Eileen had somehow raised him together. He has too much invested in despising Harry for anything other than subconscious resentment to filter though, though I hint at that in the epilogue. (yes, I have that written, just nothing between here and then)
I don't go "Ewww!" at Lily liking Snape back, tho I don't think it's particularly practical. he hates the Marauders, James especially, because James got the girl he wanted, even though she was Snape's friend. No, the love would continue to be unrequited in whatever Severitus fic I chose to write.
I read "A Year Like None Other" but none of the sequels. I'm so old school, I read it when it was a WIP.
