Also: yay!Mai! And yay her kicking ass and refusing to be drawn into her father's political gambits anymore. She is taking her time to be her own damn person and not leaving her baby brother to that snake-nest either, now that Azula's not constantly testing her.
One of my things about the canon ships is that I'm happy with them continuing as they are and developing from the point we see them at in the end of the show- but I'm also really okay with the idea of them breaking apart or taking hiatuses and using that time for participants to develop, grow up, try new things, and then weaving back together at a later time and a stronger age, once they really *know* what they want.
