I'm just outside DC currently. I grew up outside NYC and outside DC, pretty much half and half. DC has a huge Jewish population, plus I think it's a really great place for young adults. I would say the weather isn't great but you've been living in Alabama, so nevermind.
(I've been to a lot of different cities lately, and I tend to look at them with an eye to, do I want to live here? So if you're interested, I could give you a breakdown of various places. But I don't want to talk your ear off...in written form.)
