See, even just a year ago, I totally thought that's what being bi meant. And very slowly I've realized it doesn't have to work that way -- the quote you posted at the end made that hit home.
The biggest problem I have with identifying as bisexual is that I'm afraid of appropriating a term that doesn't define me. Heteroflexible feels safer, at least for the moment. And I don't really feel like this is an urgent decision or anything...which means I'll probably dwell on it a lot as procrastination from other things and figure it out soonish. Or I'll forget about it again until it becomes an issue.
But at the same time, I'm off in England for the year, and my boyfriend and I are taking a break from the relationship, due to the long distance, so I feel like I have the availability to experiment with no long term consequences. Which is not something I've ever felt before, so we shall see.
