It's not socially acceptable to be a victim, because non-victims don't want to deal with the fact that the things that victimized us happened. So when I come out and talk about my abuse, I'm only talking as a normal person, because everyone who reads this blog has seen me talk about a whole bunch of other stuff. I'm already established as a person in your mind, instead of a victim. Anyone who talks about their victimization has to be afraid that people who saw them as people before will only see them as victims thereafter, since there are so many people who can't seem to understand that victims are people.
For me, it's impossible to be silent. My anger charges ahead, and it all comes out before my brain and my fear catch up.
