I am a closed canon kind of person myself. I didn't start writing Harry Potter fanfic until after Deathly Hallows was safely out, and I entered into this fandom thinking it was closed. When Korra was announced, and the comics started coming, I was caught between "Yay! More Avatar!" and "uh oh." And look at that, both the canons I came to as closed canons have popped back open.
This is putting a serious wrench in my Avatar!Zuko story, though some of that just comes from the fact that Korra's youth and inexperience leads her to do things that wise old man Zuko wouldn't go near. Honestly though, the last fic I thought would ever be Jossed of mine is "Versions of Themselves" (the one about Tui, Yue and La) and here we are.
