It's surprising how rare it is to find stories that really delve into their own chosen premise. Maybe because it's a lot of work that isn't worth it in a commercial sense. Works like Pan's Labyrinth and ATLA are rarities, as additions to ATLA's own franchise prove.

You took the words right out of my mouth on my frustrations with LoK. There's a good story in there, but the creative team can't seem to find it. It's another story with a promising premise and no serious follow-through. Thank God for fanfic, eh?
