And I think your consciousness has been doing a fine job. Case in point, I've really liked how you've been handling the nice/good/right distinction in this fic. That's something that is generally lacking in fiction and particularly in fantasy. Too much influence of D&D I think. There you can balance out all those good points you got by rescuing the orphans with evil points by being rude to a grandmother.
