Oh please don't do that! I'm in the middle of a really nasty foreign policy essay, and I'm up to my eyeballs in journal articles.

I firmly support Snape's right to be ticked. I certainly would be. of course, his previous assertion a few chapters back that Harry had arranged things deliberately to spite him is equally untrue, and Snape should stick to being infuriated because of the results of Harry's typical thoughtlessness and not imagined personal motivations. I also see why Harry feels defensive about his actions. I also thoroughly don't understand the "Harry is evilevilevil!!!! in your fic" people.

I suppose, and I suppose my avoiding that interpretation was solely the result of his speech to Harry's first Potions class. He wormed his way into my heart with a love of academia. In defense of that interpretation, JKR deliberately set up the belief that James and Harry resembled each other in more than looks in both Harry and her readers, as a set up to tear it down yes, but she did set it up.

Coming back to an earlier conversation, Dumbledore's "much like you and Mister Malfoy" (not an exact quote, I hope, or my mind is more harry Potter saturated than I feared) comment was pretty carefully crafted to further the wedge on Harry's end between Harry and Snape.
