The Irresistible Charms of Electronics

It is a law of nature that if a computer can freeze at a bad time, it will.  I suppose this is because there are no good times for a computer to freeze.  Mine likes to freeze when I’m talking to people.

Fish: My computer froze! *sob*
Cat: How rude of it.
Fish: I think I scared it.
Cat: Poor thing.
Fish: *glares at the computer*
Cat: Oy, that’s a complement
Fish: I know; I’m trying to do it again.

After I failed to cause my computer to crash again, I decided that it must have grown a back bone while it was crashing, or it wasn’t my glare that frightened it.

Fish: Maybe it’s the smile
Cat: Or the sudden loud noises.
Fish: What sudden loud noises?
Cat: The ones you make when startled
Cat: Or angry.
Cat: Or happy.
Cat: Or attacked by inanimate objects.
Fish: Err…

Yes, I am frequently attacked by inanimate objects.  Maybe the computer heard about the time my slidey desk keyboard thing fell off my desk (I actually happened to be across the room from my desk, this cannot be blamed on me) and my previous laptop crashed to the ground with it.  This induced a slow agonizing death for the poor thing, and the rumor among the different electronics of my house is that I did with my special anti-technology powers.

Sometimes we just can’t afford the technologies we need, sad but true.  For some reason this always seems to become apparent when I’m watching The Importance of Being Ernest with Colin Firth, and Reace Witherspoon

Fish: I love Oscar Wilde.  I’d marry him if he weren’t gay and dead.
Cat: That might pose a problem.  See, while you might be able to afford a sex change or a time-travel ticket separately, I doubt you could really swing for both at once.
Fish: I could manage it.

If the time traveling and gender change don’t work out, then I will just have to think of a new plan to win my long dead love!
