Well, in that case - in the humanities it's really all about creativity, and that's for anywhere. Though one'd think in say English Literature and so forth there's really a larger call for creativity, because there's no real "That's the way it is!" to do. Unless you're trying to draw comparisons from literature to present/past society expectations? Hmm.

While I find recall based intelligence not precisely easy for me to accomplish, I find it boring. I don't think it actually involves understanding, or concepts. It's not interesting to me - it's why when I was younger I wasn't interested in learning Mandarin, because it involved so much memorization. Concepts are so much more interesting, and from there, it leads to why and then what if.

JFK's story is based on "Kid is chosen one and picked on for his whole life... that is until he got chosen." Which is a trope that occurs a whole lot in a lot of fantasy and is seriously boring. "Smart Kid Gets Picked On For Smarts" is... well, not easy to do, which is why it should be done well and done more often. There's a lot of anti-intellectualism going on in the US right now, with smart/intelligent/education being equated with elitism. While there's a racial and classist undercurrent with education system as it is now, it's horrifying to see people who are proud of their ignorance.
