Well, there's always mix and matching the standard ones, Like "Character X is Jesus in Purgatory" http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory Yeah, English lit takes a lot of creativity, even for the students who are just bullshitting. It has to be creative bullshit.
It is boring. Easy, hard, doesn't matter, still boring.
The only reason my character in my original fic doesn't have anyone picking on her at the end of my novel is because she has an army behind her. Snape (and the rest of us) need one of our own. I'm calling the pentagon. You know, I love calling people anti-intellectualism. Add that to one of my theories that anti-intellectualism is partly to blame for anti-Semitism... so yeah.
Speaking of which, am I the only one to notice that Snape looks like the Nazi propaganda version of a Jew and in some ways kinda acts like it too?
