Dear god that's hilarious. That's even worse than finding my labmate reading me read StarTrek fanfic over myshoulder and asking me if I wrote star trek fanfic.
One of the problems about the chosen one trope is that there are two tropes - one being the Shiny Hero (JKR's version), and the other version which has everyone pick on the hero guy because he's just so special and they're jealous etc etc and he's a viiiiictiiiiiim. Which is, actually part of the reason why I avoid Slytherin!Harry fics, because people tend to write it badly, and have him being picked on by jealous Slytherins and Gryffindors or else have him be a shiny shiny Gryffindor even if he's in Slytherin.
