He's treated as an enemy by the Slytherins (not that what they do is more than touched on in this shortfic) and Snape treats him the same as in canon, only with more power. The Gryffindors each have different motivations for what they do but jealousy enters into Dean's reasons, because his girlfriend has a crush on Harry. Plus, Harry doesn't take any of it lying down. I also give Harry a relatively happy home life. There are some really good Slytherin Harry fics out there if you're willing to search for them. Mad_Martha's "Two Houses" fic http://bestmate.quillandink.org/fiction/viewstory.php?sid=216 which is Harry/Ron, and LizBee's gen fic "The New Boy" http://mirrordance.net/hpfic/newboy.html and Once Upon a Stormy Life http://community.livejournal.com/hpvalensmut/92679.html by laciudad which also holds the distinction of being Harry/Lucius that works, and also Drarry that works. Most of it though, sucks, which makes me sad, because when it's good, it's really really good.
