VERY interesting chapter. I have to agree with Severus, Harry knowing just makes it worse. I mean, think of what the revelation meant for Severus. He finds out: a) Tobias is not his father,b) his real father deliberately sent him into abuse and neglect, and c) turned him ugly to boot, d) his mother was complicit in this because since when is dieing before you're 40 a good thing? e) James Potter, the bully who made his life miserable at school, was his grandfather, and let's not forget f) Lily, the woman Severus loved so deeply he devoted his entire life to her memory, was his grandmother. That last has got to hurt on soooo many levels. We're in Greek tragedy territory there. All this so Snape would become a spy and die on cue to satisfy history.
Basically, Harry did to Snape exactly what Dumbledore did to Harry, but worse because what Dumbledore suspected, Harry knew. Yes, people are prone to repeat the cycle, but Harry managed it in the space of fifteen minutes. Not thinking it through is really the only excuse here.
Personally, I want to see what happens when Harry figures out that in insuring history repeated itself for Snape, he also insured that Snape delivered the prophecy to Voldemort.
Okay, I'll stop telling you about your own story now. But it is such an interesting premise. :)
