Westmark was mildly amusing, but it's real purpose is solely to set up all the monarchist tropes of high fantasy so that the next two can tear them down. On it's own, it's pure fluff that I lapped up quite happily at twelve. The other two are pure concentrated awesome! Read them so I have someone to talk about them with!
He likes to set his novels in fictionalized (and highly romanticized) versions of other countries, (Wales, India, China, France, everywhere) but he was a Phillie boy born and raised. He even set parts of the Vesper Holly novels there.
