Yeah, the way these narratives bleach characters of humanity is awful. If they were few in number they'd be laughed at as bad fiction, but somehow a different standard seems to apply to Very Special-type works. Their sheer predominance and the lack of other narratives about these groups turn what is at heart bad storytelling into an erasure of whole groups.
