Starting the New Year with a Good Deed

To all my coreligionists out there, L’shana tova!  I hope the new year brings with it joy and blessings, and many helpings of fried chicken livers

Can you tell I’ve been exiled from Whole Foods?  Since last year, just being in the same store with the pumpkins and the bakery cooking pumpkin pies did horrible things to me, I’m staying away until they’re gone.  But they sell fried chicken livers for the High Holy Days, and I want some.

Anyway, the Quakers have a petition in support of the Islamic Cultural Center near Ground Zero.  I have just signed it, and I urge anyone who stands for religious freedom and justice and kindness for all human beings, whatever their beliefs to do the same.

Given how much I talk about it with my friends and family, I keep trying to sit down and write a post about it, but it keeps coming out as an incoherent string of "What the %&^$@ is wrong with you people?!?!?!? So I've given up.

I was reduced to tears at one meeting. Cordoba Project will be two blocks from me, and I'm looking forward to having my pool, library and theatre, darn it. (Kidding)

I'm so far away from the action. But the Quran burnings are going to happen in my home state, and it makes me want to kill something. *shakes head* What is going on with this country?

signed!! Good Idea-reading about that on Facebook made me feel almost physically sick. Extremists in any religion are just miserable and come up with some hateful ideas. Hilary

It just makes me so angry that people who claim to be American patriots stand against what America means this way, and that people who claim to be good Christians throw what Jesus said right out. I'm not even Christian and it burns.
