A few ground rules related to my personal squicks:

No incest
No ships where one party is much older or younger than the other(s)

You almost got a terrible Portal joke, but with great effort, I restrained myself.

There were times, few and far between, where Peter could be romantic. Oh, he was always loving, always there for her, but romance was usually just a little beyond him. Except when it involved being a sneaky bastard.

She called the bakery, and they told her she couldn't cancel the order, because he had already picked it up. He had picked it up yesterday, and she couldn't find it anywhere in the house. It was the same every year, and it was very sweet, he would buy them a little cake for two for their anniversary, of the same kind they had at the wedding, and she never could find ahead of time. But three years in, she hadn't had the heart to tell him she hated yellow cake.

She supposed he was hiding it at the office, that bastard.

Awwww, this is really neat, and very much in character - Peter's one romantic gesture being tragically wrong, and El not having the heart to tell him, at least not at that earlier point in their marriage.

It fell out of the sky. The day the comet came, and it seemed like the whole Earth Kingdom was on fire, and she saw more burn victims and more bodies than she had seen before, and had ever seen since, it fell out of the sky into her vegetable garden.

And with that, the war was over. And the man who came to retrieve the boomerang that had fallen out of the sky was a boy- and he had saved her life and the lives of her whole people, and he was a boy.

And she was a girl.

Song handed him the boomerang, and he tucked it away, loose-limbed and smiling. When he bent over to kiss her cheek, she let him. "Why don’t you stay for dinner?" she asked, "My mom always makes too much roast duck."

"Come on, Sirius," she crooned. "Let's get you tucked in, and you can sleep it off."

"I'm not that drunk, Lily," he tried to tell her, slurring the L's.

"Mm-hm," she replied. Sirius let her push him onto the couch and tuck a blanket around him, still in his wedding clothes.

"Should we help get him undressed?" James asked, reluctant.

Lily looped a finger through his tie and tugged him towards the door. "You are the only man I'm supposed to be undressing tonight."

He followed. "Be good practice for when we have kids."

She closed the door behind them. "Don't you know there's a war on, Mr. Potter?"

"Are you sure?"

"Pretty sure."

"Well I'm pretty sure we're supposed to forget about it tonight." He pulled her into his arms. "In fact, I'm pretty sure it's our solemn duty."

Mai crossed her arms and turned her face into Zuko's chest. "This is why people invented the indoors."

"You're on the roof," Jet laughed. "Nobody can see you. Now get out of that robe, pasty, and get some color into that skin." He grabbed her robe.

"I have no interest in turning into a lobster-clam!" She wriggled away from him and darted to her feet.

Zuko rolled away before Jet could step on him. Jet looked down. "Hey, what's this?" he demanded, picking up a scroll that had been hidden under Zuko until he moved. "This is work, isn't it? Do you just have no idea what relaxing is supposed to mean?"

"Give it back."

"This is going in the turtle-duck pond."

"Be good practice for when we have kids." I know it wasn't the intent of this line, but I was suddenly struck with an AU Hangover scenario of a drunk Harry flooing to the wrong fireplace and Lily and James' misadventures in finding him.

"Are you trying to get out of jumping off a cliff, Ty Lee?" Teo asked, wagging his finger.

"Now why would I want to do that?" She cocked her head at him.

He shook his head. "Everybody tries to get me out of the chair, like it's keeping me prisoner."

"I'm not trying to drag you out of your chair," she said, shrugging. "I just want to teach you a circus trick. I keep trying to get everybody to try it."

"Maybe if you actually jump off that cliff and glide all the way around the temple without using your bending."

She smiled. "You going to follow me, to make sure I go all the way?"
