Kindle the Wind (The Avatar! Zuko 'verse) commentfic meme

That's it, folks, I can't take it.  In the hopes that maybe writing some of what I want to write will get me unblocked on the fic I'm trying to write, I'm giving in and running a commentfic meme for my Avatar!Zuko verse.  Comment with up to five requests, and I’ll guarantee you at least one commentfic.  I’ll probably answer with more, knowing me.  weirdlet , fanficforensics, beboots, and floranna  get seven requests and a guarantee of two fics, because beboots  and floranna  are the best betas ever, and weirdlet and fanficforensics just because.

Air, Water, Earth, Fire.

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.

A hundred years passed and the new Avatar crashed into the ice sheet that borders our village. Although he is the Fire Nation prince, and it's his family and his nation that have brought this war to the world, I have hope that inside Zuko lies the spark of greatness. In the end, he has to save the world.

Oh good! Usually I have a really hard time with Sokka, but in this, he's so much more demonsterably crazy that he comes through clear even trough Zuko's warped perspective. I'm working on Katara.

Thank you! I adore Korra, and making her not the Avatar in this kinda hurt. I'm holding off on filling any more Korra era prompts until more episodes come out, but I definately am eager to get to them.

Oih. That ending is just absolutely perfect. And Zhao is as creepy as ever, but for some odd reason I LOVE creepy Zhao, who doesn't respect personal boundaries so it's okay.

Hah, more like both twins make the descisions they want to and claim it's the other sister's day when the real work shows up.

The Fire Lord in this verse is a sockpuppet on Mai's hand. She moves it while Zuko hides behind her and does its squeaky voice.

In all seriousness, how does Mai have the right to head a regency? Is her family that closely related to the royals?

To create from whole cloth is an idiom. It means to create from scratch, as if from fabric that has not alredy been cut to fit a pattern. In this case, Mai and Zuko need to get with the baby making.

Do you know the idiom? I just explained it to floranna on this thread.

Anyway, Zuko and Mai are hoping that Mai will soon be the Firelord's mother, and that until then that no one will want to challenge the man who took out the previous Firelord, and the woman who took on Azula.

I know it, but since I'm ESL, a more literal meaning was the first thing that popped into my head.

It's kind of hilarious to imagine them scurrying about trying to make a baby nownownow. Iroh probably sends all kind of fertility teas by hawk post.
