I have a craving I just can't deny. I want the angstiest whumpiest captivity and slavery fic you can link me to in this fandom
Some rules:
No "Zuko holds such and such character captive and they fall in looove!" No. If the captive falls in love with the captor, it better be seriously screwed up.
Gen is best
I love angst
Absolutely no Ty Zula under any circumstances

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7718254/1/
am trying but failing to remember the one I haven't read yet with Sokka finding Zuko at the Boiling Rock... will keep looking, linking others.

Assimilation Author: Rebecca Hb
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5859382/1/Assimilation
also, gen or ursa/ozai complicated feelings het, not so whumpy:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5303934/1/Flint
sex but not romance/love, also dai li being creepy:

not so whumpy:
Reunion Author: Vaneria Potter PM
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7337075/1/
Based off of Kimberly T's awesome story "Promises To Keep". What -would- have happened if the Southern Water Tribe Warriors had come across Zuko's ship and found Katara there?

The Fifth Column Author: chromeknickers
The Sparrowkeet series by audreyii-fic has some angst and messed-upness mixed with the love stuff but is probably too lovey, on balance. but maybe not. Also A Red Light Turns On Author: ladymer http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7286334/1/
(au WWII zuko/katara) same issue. Not sure where you draw the line with that trope.
Re: wei
Date: 2012-09-07 05:34 am (UTC)Turns out I have read "It's Impossible". I didn't get along with the worldbuilding.
Read "The Way It Was Meant to Be", which is Hakoda finding Zuko, I love it.
I loved assimilation, but I don't like almost anything Rebecca_HB writes about Ozai. She likes him too much.
Ooooh! Creepy Dai Li! my writing history alone should tell you I love creepy Dai Li.
I never managed to get into "Promises to Keep" being less than fond of Zutara (more for the tropes that get used than for the pair) and I don't like Kimberly_T's writing style.
I've seen "The Fifth Column" recced elsewhere, and the consept just doesn't appeal to me.
Oddly enough, when I'm in the right mood, I like the Sparrowkeet series. Not sure why, it hits my least favorite tropes hard, but there you go.

Date: 2012-09-10 04:44 am (UTC)EDIT got the links to turn blue but they don't seem to work?
how do I anchor the url in the text?
Don't know what you've already read, I found:
Fragile (#) by Dungeonwriter which has Lu Ten (!!!) one of my favorite characters, different take on him, lots and lots of whump. When I was in a captive/slave/superwhump mood this hit the spot. But it's an abandoned WIP. I don't mind these because I just write my own endings in my head, but be forewarned.
A Woman Scorned (#) same author, umm...yeah. slavery/capture/crack-ish? Featuring Meng.
Prison Conversations (#)has captive Zuko and Sokka and some whump (don't recall well, should reread)
Brothers in Arms (#) has captive Iroh and Sokka (not sure I like how it played out but there's captivity)
The Seeing Bowl (#) is a WIP with captive Zuko
don't recall well at all:
Cog in the Machine (#) captive sokka
What I Don't Like About You (#)AU Katara goes to the Boiling Rock too. But it's Zutara (a pairing I like even when it's cheesy and flawed...I kinda liked this take on it though but YMMV)
