Since I made the damn things, I might as well pimp with them, and while I'm at it I can test the code.

Remember the community I wrote about here some time ago, the one I wrote Closing Doors for?  Unusuallygen is a multifandom challenge that turns all the clichéd plots used for romance fics into gen fic prompts.  Ever wanted to write a fic where Draco is a veela, Harry is his mate, and they still don't get together?  Here's the place to do it. The Tardis tries to get the Doctor and his companion together and it doesn't work? There's a prompt like that too.  So, everyone should check the site out.  If you do, you get to see the bigger version of my pretty banner.  The banner below is hotlinked for your convenience.

A) I do not have to answer to my parents about my grades, age has real advantages
B) they haven't happened yet (this is what May is for, I'm writing term papers right now)
C) I'm a straight A student
D) These took me about ten minutes a piece.

My baby brother is in high school and he started complaining about the exact sort of school stuff at nearly the exact same time. Our local public high school is very well funded. We live in A state where the lotto proceeds go to education AND our local property tax as well. What with all the gated communities around it adds up. So when you mentioned specific electives that the HS offers but the closest private college didn't I was biased toward thinking you were in a high school like mine that offers drama and wierd foriegn languages...of course my brother opted to take Latin, instead of Russian, German, or Japanese. He said it was easier after taking Spanish, already. I simply forgot that not all colleges suck as much as ours does....that and unlike the college students around here you don't ever complain about hangovers which even 19 year old freshmen do as despite being too young they still have access through upperclassmen. The area is extremely backward. well behaved children who care about their grades....wild young adults whose parents were altogether deceived by their kid's previous good behaviorin a school that can afford to give a school with 4000 kids a 1:20 teacher to student ratio and a pool, football stadium, baseball field, track field, exercise field, climbing/repelling wall, that weird looking platformm you have to slide off of in a harness on a rope, auditorium with stadium seating and sound proof lighting and sound booth (with attached dressing rooms and green room)(nearby full-service concession stand in the building), two libraries, five parking lots, and a cafeteria with five registers, an a la cart line and cappacino machine(also serves hot chocolate and pastries) And two art studios. You come off the same way as all my old classmates did when we went to a school with a VERY good attendence record( and therfore usually had the grades to show for it) It was reflected in the way we spoke. WHAZUP! didn't catch on very quickly over here. My apologies if you are insulted that I thought you to be a preppy teenager.

Preppy? Oh, now I am insulted. I'm a left wing political junky feminist bisexual, and I'm not opinionated at all... A lot of my friends' parents thought I was a bad influence on their kids.

As a matter of fact, I'm anaphylactically allergic to alcohol, and having one's throat close kinda puts a damper on experimentation. I also have violent allergy induced seizures when exposed to products of combustion, so no weed or cigarettes as well. ctually, Amy former hippy mother is a little upset about the marijuana part. Mind, every time there's a big wildfire around, I need to take an impromptu vacation, but drugs are out of the question.

I took Russian in high school, and now I'm taking Russian and Arabic. I have plans to take Hebrew and Farsi. I'm a political science major and I hope to get my PhD in near eastern studies. I'm a dedicated student by my own steam and ridiculous ambition, but you wouldn't know that from my attendance records, (thank God most professors don't take it) because I have a set of immune and autoimmune disorders that regularly keep me stuck in bed.

I dropped out of high school because every time the science classes dissected anything, I couldn't go to school for four weeks, and in between, the girls soaked themselves in perfume and the boys in aftershave, and the janitors smoked on the roof, which the classes all vented to, and the maintenance people would touch op the latex paint without telling anyone. I took my GED as soon as I dropped out and became a college student at the start of the next semester with a full ride scholarship.

I spent my high school years (both of them) mostly in twice exceptional classes, for students who qualify for special ed funding and disability funding, because gifted is funded through special education. Once a substitute teacher came in, and we didn't know it, but he had only been told that we were a special ed class. He wrote a letter to the teacher asking what were the rest of the students at the school were like if two students of ours were discussing quantum physics, and I was discussing the intricacies of the Israeli Palestinian conflict. The Next time he came in, we gave him a very hard time about it.

I have to live at home where I can control my environment better, but the multiple buildings at the university means that the ventilation system doesn't circulate allergens to the whole campus. Mind, there's still my circulatory system, which doesn't work well, and my suppressed immune system, but I can't have everything.

Goodness, I knew it had to be that you were some sort of iconoclast. Preppy prob is a bad adjective I would have a full understanding of the definition as I never socialized. The High school I graduated from was my 2nd: I also attended 2 middle schools and 6 elementary---(preschool wasn't so big in the mid-eighties).But, I don't know a better (short) way of putting it. My husband is very left wing(he says-He was a caller on the mike malloy(?) radio show for the hundreth time(he even called in as a demon named "Bob" Tho that may have been for some other radio host named sam-something)He also calls me a rhino- whatever that is especially when I couldn't bring myself to cancel his vote in 2004 and wrote in my father so I could tell my dad I "voted republican" and not be lying. I'm sure he'd haved sussed it out if I did and I really hate catching gaff from my age, ailing parents as I was raised to put up with it ...AND look interested the whole time. My husband knows better than to drag me into any political conversation. I exaggerate the "smile and nod" thing I do for both our parents so he can't miss my sarcasm. I frbade him from disscussing the subject with my parents after he got himself thrown out of their house last time. I stay decidedly neutral...on a personal level its just safer. On a 'nother subject I was blessed with the constitution of a goat It was only after I met my first chain-smoker in law that cig. smoke started to give me a runny nose and make my eyes swell shut(I'd never spent so much time around that much smoke indoors)...I don't like the taste of alcohol so that and the fact I must consume more than is normal to even get buzzed killed off any interest in drinking(my worst fault after procrastination is I'm a terrible miser...alcohol is darn exspensive!)The only time I ever got drunk was on someone else's dollar...they never did THAT again. Apparently I'm just too expensive for someone who acts no different in their cups. ( this event NEVER happenedif my parents ask... I moved out years ago but they live close enough to come and see me if something bothers them. they don't keep me from doing what I want, but I hate getting harped on and I always move to avoid it. I even lied about getting married so I wouldn't catch it for "shacking up" never mind I had my own room the two weeks I wasn't actually married but said I was. I avoided calling them a year after so they would have time to forget what my anniversary was supposed to be. Chalk up one more thing my parents will never know, nor my siblings as long as the parentals still breath. I hope you will forgive me for thinking that your parents have any say 'bout what you do ...I can only say that I Have this mental image cobbled together from my own experiences 'bout what you are and I was raised to think asking for personal info on the net was a BIG NO-NO so have mercy on my wishy-washy soul.

Asking for personal info anywhere except with people one knows really really well is a bad idea. I do not give it out, and a friend of mine mentioned that we lived near each other on line once, and then posted where she lived, and I screamed at her for an hour.

I didn't really have to answer much to my parents even when I was in high school, because I kept good grades for my own sake and because I'm very bookish. I'm also introverted, so I didn't party. At all. I hosted one movie party at my house and went to a speech and debate party (wild wild fun, as you can imagine, we played charades) a party with about ten friends at a local restaurant (unchaperoned, oohlala!) and I went to homecoming once, and I supplied the drugs, Ibphophen that is. The music was so loud that I ended up passing them around like candy for headaches. Wild swinging high school days. I did stage a break out of the school's athletic rally once though...

My parents spent a lot of time pushing me out of the house trying to get me to socialize. A little bit of teen trouble would have been good in their eyes, because then I'd at least be talking to people.

I am extremely sickly, and because of this, I've usually had a bit more license than most, because no one wanted to pick on the sick child.

My parents are both very liberal, and my maternal grandmother and step grand father are as well. My brother somehow is a republican, and in the interests of family peace, and because I like visiting my nephews, we stay away from my whole intended career, and I'm still in the closet to him.

Strangely enough, my mother colluded with this same brother to help him shack up with his then fiancee. Her parents are never to know.

Your dad now has one vote for president... wow, I'm starstruck! lol! I'm rabidly political and always have been and I like to talk politics. it was a real shock to my system when I found out that some people didn't.

My one and only experience with intoxicating substances was an opiate after surgery, and I hallucinated violently and unpleasantly about blue tigers in the ceiling that wanted to eat me. Since I can't handle Tylenol, all surgery since has been pain killer free, which sucks.

It would also be nice to know how you feel about being pestered for updates so I won't risk invoking your (squirrely?) wrath again.

I prefer the squirrelyness of El Goonish Shive http://www.elgoonishshive.com/

I don't mind being pestered, and an update will be up either today or tomorrow, but after that I need to break for a few weeks to study and write papers. Then it will be break, and so much will be written.
