The Flock, the Pack, and the Family

Since September, I have lost a bird, a dog, and my grandfather.  Muffin is sick right now, and going downhill fast.  We've had her since I was ten,when we found her at my school, dodging the buses, and trying to get all of the kids to play with her.  Never was there a more athletic dog, and now she can barely walk, and she grows more confused by the day.  The time's coming soon to say goodbye, and I'm spending as much time with her as I can.  I'm just glad Liam went first.  He adored her, and with his brain damage, she took care of him.

Meanwhile, the puppy Mom adopted to be her follow-me-around dog after Liam died is not a two year old poodle after all (well, the poodle part was obvious, her legs are like, an inch long) but a Maltese/Dachshund mix, and a baby!  Suzy went from 4 and 1/2 pounds when we got her to over 7 pounds, and yes she was skinny, but not that skinny!  She's much longer, and we don't think she's done yet!  There is nothing better than having a young dog around, even when she causes trouble, which she does all the time.  We spent the day taking pictures of her, trying to get one to send to the shelter to show them how much she's grown, and during that, my mom took this video of her playing with my poodle, Ziggy.

I'm sorry for your losses. We lost two of our dogs in the first 3 months of 2011 and were absolutely devestated. Still are, to some degree.

The video was adorable, tho!

Thank you, and I'm sorry for yours. When I was in middle school, the three dogs we had had since before I was born all went within a year of each other, and all these years later, I still miss them.

Oh isn't it? She's a real stinker. Ziggy has finally met his match.
